The Backyard Urban Farm Company
Introduction
The Backyard Urban Farm Company (BUFCO) is a family-run, organic vegetable landscaping company that designs, installs, and maintains edible gardens in homes, businesses, schools and other institutions throughout Toronto. We specialize in a variety of Raised Garden Beds, made from rot resistant, locally and responsibly harvested Eastern White Cedar. We also establish traditional in-ground gardens, work with existing gardens, and mix edible plants into ornamental gardens.
Our edible garden maintenance packages can be tailored to fit you needs, from weekly to occasional visits. We can do it for you, or with you, which can be a wonderful learning experience for you and your family. Kids of all ages often participate during our visits.
Other BUFCO services include designing, creating and maintaining beautiful container gardens for your porch or deck, using either ornamental or edible plants, or a mix of both, as well as end-of-season garden cleanup.

At The Backyard Urban Farm Company, our mission is to ignite people’s passion for growing their own food, to educate ourselves and others about self-sufficiency and food security, and to strive for responsible stewardship of the planet. We use only certified organic seed and seedlings and other inputs (unless unavailable, and only with client approval), and strictly follow organic gardening and farming best practices.
